Do you need braces but want to retain the natural appearance of your smile? If so, Invisalign® clear braces might be right for you. Our orthodontist is certified to provide Invisalign braces to our patients. Here are the steps involved with Invisalign:

Before taking images of your teeth, our orthodontist will want to make sure that Invisalign is the right decision for you. If you and he both feel that Invisalign is the right way to straighten your teeth, you’ll move on to step two.

Using a 3D scanner, Dr. Joseph P. Goodson will take precise digital images (or physical impressions) of your mouth and teeth for fitting your Invisalign clear aligners. Once the images are made, your doctor will develop your treatment plan; this includes the duration of your treatment and the movements your teeth will need to make.

Your Invisalign clear aligners will be custom-made just for you. They’re made of a special material that is see-through, so people may not even notice you’re wearing them. And because they’re removable, you can take them out to eat! For best results, you’ll want to wear them for 22 hours a day.

The Invisalign clear aligners will slowly move your teeth into their proper positions. As your teeth move over time, you’ll need to wear new aligners that are matched to the current positions of your teeth. Regular checkups and reviews with your doctor will help the two of you evaluate your progress.
